who we areGenesis Seatrading Corp is an independent ship management company based in Piraeus, Greece, providing comprehensive technical and commercial management services for dry bulk carriers. We combine traditional Greek seamanship with modern ship management practice—focused on safety, operational reliability, and long-term performance.
Our story is rooted in generations of maritime tradition. The Glyptis family’s shipping activity was founded by Capt. Evangelos Glyptis through the establishment of GLYSCA Comp. Naviera S.A. (early 1960s), which operated until the late 1980s and managed bulk carriers under high technical standards.
Management & continuity have been shaped by a key figure from 1975 to the present: Konstantinos Glyptis (born in Chios, 1952). He studied Economics at ASOEE and completed postgraduate studies at Northeastern University. From 1975 to 1987 he served as an executive at GLYSCA Comp. Naviera S.A., whose fleet reached up to 15 vessels; from 1987 to 2000 he served as an executive and co-shipowner at Uniship Maritime Co., managing handy size bulk carriers.
In 2000, Konstantinos Glyptis founded Genesis Seatrading Corp, which he managed together with his brother Elias and his son Evangelos. Since 2024, the company continues under the management of Konstantinos and Evangelos Glyptis.
Since its establishment, Genesis Seatrading Corp has specialized in the management of handy and handymax bulk carriers (approximately 10,000 to 55,000 tons), with a consistent focus on safe operations and technical excellence.
A key milestone in the company’s evolution was the addition of the next generation: Evangelos Glyptis joined the team in 2006 and today serves as Director supervising all technical and commercial matters, strengthening the company’s technical capability through his marine engineering (University of Newcaste; Upon Tyne), naval architecture (UCL), and MBA background (LSE).
Across the group’s history, the companies have operated as management companies for bulk carriers, with careful crew selection and continuity in standards. Over time, manning evolved from Greek officers and Filipino ratings under the Greek flag to multinational crews under Maltese and Liberian flags—consistently selected for experience and reliability.
